My Work in New York
A lot of people have been asking me what kind of work I do in New York. Most people knew it was fashion related but didn’t know exactly what I was doing, what field I was in etc. So I thought I would make this post for you to get a better understanding of what type of jobs I’ve been doing these last years. The list could have been a lot longer, but it’s a lot of repetitive jobs, so here is a list of the ones I thought you would find interesting. Enjoy!

Wardrobe Stylist 2013 - 2018
– Shop, dress and accessorize talent, as well as supervise shoots. This was the second movie where I was working with A-list celebrities. The first one I worked on was with David Harbour (from Stranger Things), and Emmy Rossum (from Shameless), but it got canceled in the middle of the shooting because our producer got really sick.
This job though is where I really learned how it is to work on a big movie set and let’s just say, it’s not for everyone! I was working closely with Demi Moore, Alec Baldwin, and Dylan McDermott. I loved it all, but it was the 5 most hectic months of my life since I was going to school and working another job at the same time. But it was worth it!

Wardrobe Stylist
– Shop, dress and accessorize talent, as well as supervise shoots. FYI this was the first job I styled completely alone. This was a 2-day shoot, where I was dressing these 2 girls throughout the whole shoot. It was a lot of fun working with a Norwegian client. This commercial aired on TV in Norway in 2016, Chess is now part of Telia Company.
PR and Special Events Coordinator at The Flow NYC From January 2017 – June 2017
– My days would include organizing special projects like press days, makeup events, and photoshoots. I also sent pitches to editors and bloggers every day, telling them about our products or inviting them to events. Updating social media was also a big part of my daily routines. Fit Flop was one of our main clients, and their campaign women were Uma Thurman whom I had actually worked with before when I was working at Vs. Magazine.
Fashion Assistant from 2013 to 2015
– I worked here for over 2 years, and I loved it. This was my first fashion job in New York.
Managed office duties and assisted talents such as Uma Thurman, Helena Christensen, Julianne Moore, Frieda Pinto, Soo Joo Park, and Zoe Kravitz. I also had to attend showroom previews with different designers and go to New York Fashion Week every season. Vs. Magazine was a cinematic high fashion magazine, their stories were always stunning. It was a lot of fun working with them because we were a small team so I would get to be part of the production, this was definitely not a typical “run and get coffee” type of internship. I also got to work with the makeup artist @hungvanngo on several shoots, he is incredible!
Vs. Mag would always have 5 different covers because they wanted to be different and offer a more limited edition feeling. These were some of the covers that were published while I was working there. I still have so many magazines at home, now I use them as decor in my apartment.
Documenting NYFW for Vs. Magazine
– I’ve probably been to over 100 shows, press previews, and presentations, but nothing beat the feeling I had when I attended my first show! My job when I went to all these shows was to document each collection, take notes, pictures, and post it all to our Twitter, Instagram, and our website. I have to admit, fashion week was always my favorite time of the year, even though it was crazy hectic. You get to see and meet many influential people, the whole experience is just very inspiring.
Stylist Assistant for Ann-Sofie’s Look Book F/W 16-17
– This was a job I did to help out a friend in need. However it was a lot of fun, and it was my first time helping out on a look-book shoot. Afterwards, I’ve been able to produce my own look-book shots for clients I’ve been working with.
Fashion Assistant for the stylist Connie Berg
– I’ve been lucky enough to work with some amazing stylists, and Connie is a real artist. I’ve helped her and her assistant out on a few shots for HARPER’S BAZAAR UK, ELLE KAZAKHSTAN, and ODDA. One of my fav shoots was this one we did for Odda Magazine.

After working for 6 years in the fashion industry in New York I have a lot of tips and tricks to share with you so don’t be afraid to ask me. I will probably make a blog post and a video about how to land an internship later. It’s hard to find out what you want to do, so my best advice is just to say yes to all the opportunities you get, then it gets easier to see what you like and what you really don’t like. But for now, I hope you got a better picture of some of the areas I’ve been working in for the last 5 years.
